George Michael was an English singer and songwriter. He became popular as a vocalist for the Wham band and then as a soloist. He has sold more than 100 million albums worldwide. He was born in London, where he spent most of his childhood with his two sisters. In 1987 he began his solo career. Michael confessed that success did not make him happy, but it exhausted him, he became lonely and frustrated far away from friends and family. In 1996, Michael was voted "Best British Artist". Michael ceased his life at the age of 53. He died on Christmas morning.
