Pentru a forma comparativul de superioritate la adjectivele scurte, avem regula urmatoare:

the + adjectiv-est

❁ daca adjectivul se termina in consoana vocala consoana, dublam ultima consoana (the biggest)

❁daca adjectivul se termina in y, precedat de o consoana, y se transforma in i ( the friendliest)

Pentru a forma comparativul de superioritate la adjectivele lungi, avem regula urmatoare:
