Everything began when my friends though it would be fun to visit a haunted house near the shoreline. They always had the weirdest ideas to spend our free time but that one time they wanted to impress the new girl that had just transferred from another school, Melissa. Somehow she accepted their invitation as she was a big fan of horror movies. We met the same day at 1 am, packed with flashes, food, and backpacks as if we were going camping. My best friend, the most eager to be involved in such events, was equipped from head to toe, but of course half-way there he was the most tired. When we got there I was getting cold feet, the place was in a really bad state. I told them I won’t go inside.
I bet they were just as frightened as I was but they still wanted to show off. I was so stupid to think they wouldn’t let me alone outside, so it was a big surprise when one by one they entered the house, like getting swallowed by a dark entity. I had to go inside as well so I left the door opened. We stumbled across some dusty pieces of furniture and window glass on the floor and found a wardrobe right in front of us in the middle of the room.
In my attempt to break the silence I said out loud “Hey, there’s a movie like that, right”? That one phrase was enough to make Melissa go and open the doors. At that moment the door slammed shut".
