Trying new things and taking risks would definitely be preferred because I believe one cannot grow as a person unless he/she is free to experiment, make mistakes, fix them and learn something from every single step that they take. It's fun and may turn out to be quite productive as well. Not to mention the guaranteed extermination of boredom while filling one's cup of excitement to the brim, which might turn out to be the perfect example of killing two birds with one stone. A win-win situation, no?
