Exams still are and will be like important steps in life for some of us, but those also have advantages and disadvantages.
Seeing that exams are often written, I'd say that possible advantages can be : some of us are already too old for technology, so, they prefer to use the written option because it's easier and, to be honest, that's true because the first years of our lives we learn to write by hand... At the same time, we can also erase if we write something that we think is wrong.
From disadvantages point of view, we can say that it takes too much to write by hand, so, thinking and exposing directly what we actually think it's in some ways a little bit easier, but you have to trust yourself and what you're saying and to be very careful about what you transmit to the person that is paying attention to your ideas.
In conclusion, written exams have advantages but also disadvantages.
