Liceenii ", directed by Nicolae Corjos, the first part of a series of successful feature films, is the most beautiful Romanian love film, according to the results of an online questionnaire posted on www.mediafax.ro.
The film "Liceenii" was chosen by 36.19% of the approximately 970 voters on the site, being followed, at a short distance, by "Declaration of Love", also signed by Nicolae Corjos, who obtained 36.08% of votes.
"Liceenii" (1987) is the love story of two "freshmen" who fall in love. Mihai (Ştefan Bănică) is a provincial who has reached a high school in Bucharest, where his passion for philosophy and mathematics will be overshadowed by love, and Dana (Oana Sârbu) is a fan of chess championships. The love of the two is sprinkled with quarrels, innocent surprises and proofs of friendship. In addition to the two lovers, the nice Ionică (Mihai Constantin), Mihai's friend, but also the tough math teacher Isoscel (Tamara Buciuceanu) and the teacher Socrates (Ion Caramitru) also stand out. A film about love and high school life that filled cinemas, "Declaration of Love" (1985) can be considered one of the first Romanian "love stories".
