The National Museum of History of Romania is the most important museum of the Romanian state. It has objects with historical value discovered on the current territory of Romania from prehistoric times to the contemporary period.
The museum was founded in 1970, in order to illustrate the cultural evolutions recorded throughout all historical epochs in the geographical space of today's Romania. Its headquarters are the Post Office Palace on Calea Victoriei. [1]
It is the most important museum of history and archeology in Romania, both by size (developed area) and by heritage; he is also one of the most important actors in contemporary Romanian archeology and a leader in preventive archeology (a notion that refers to the archeological excavations associated with investments, in order to prevent the destruction of historical heritage).
